So, because I'm not in the Bay Area on Thanksgiving (I'm actually working on a cruiseship) I had Thanksgiving dinner EARLY with my parents last weekend. And let me tell you, I'm sure my mom loves not having to worry about going to the store last minute! Apparently, the WORST day to try and grocery shop for Thanksgiving is Tuesday, November 26th. For obvious reasons, everyone will either be there the same time or will have already shopped and there's barely anything left on the shelves! Kind of like shopping for Superbowl Sunday on Saturday night. :)
On the plus side, dinner at home was LOVELY. Green bean casserole, turkey and gravy, mashed potatoes, candied carrots, cranberry relish (Mom and I didn't touch it) and stuffing. Oh and of COURSE pumpkin pie. Yum! Also shout out to Meiomi Pinot Noir which was a perfect compliment to the night. Also to my mom and dad who are two of the kindest human beings on the planet.
