Mayor Ed Lee has been SF's mayor since 2011 and was the city's first Asian-American mayor elected . He died suddenly Tuesday morning from cardiac arrest, he was 65. Our thoughts go out to his family and friends.
Former San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown, a close personal friend of Lee’s has some words to share:
“I don’t know San Francisco without Ed Lee,” Brown said. “He was a part of everything. He was the human rights director. He was head of purchasing during my administration. He was head of public works. He became the CAO (chief administrative officer) for the city… I just can’t imagine the city without Ed Lee.”
Sad day.
