What a beautiful- yet sad- story. Michael and Linda, of New Zealand, have been married 34 years. In 2010, Michael was diagnosed with Alzheimer's and his long-term memory has been fading. “I could see he was trying to ask me something, but he just couldn’t quite get the words out,” said his wife Linda. “So, I held his hand and asked him ‘what is it my darling? What are you trying to tell me?’ He looked at me with tears in his eyes and with a stutter he said, ‘will you marry me?’
Incredibly, leading up to the wedding, Michael remembered. Even on the big day, he woke up and said, "Today's the day!" Watch below for the moment the couple tied the knot. Read more here!
