District Attorney George Gascon is requesting $1 million budget to put together a task force who will connect the auto burglaries and identify serial offenders.
Gascon said at a Hall of Justice news conference (see below) that he expects to see a 20% reduction in car break-ins if the Board of Supervisors and mayor approve his budget request...
There were 30,000 auto theft cases last year, something needs to happen.
