Huge Device Deployed Out Of San Francisco To Collect Ocean Plastic!

If you've never heard of the Great Pacific Garbage Patch, the story will break your heart.  This is an island between California and Hawaii that is TWICE the size of Texas. Boyan Slat, a Bay Area Innovator and CEO of a company called The Ocean Cleanup developed a 2,000 foot long "floating boom" that is currently being towed out of the Bay to clean up the garbage patch.  Workers are hoping to clean up at least half of all the plastic in the next five years.  NICE!
