Today is 9/11 and it's crazy that it's already been 17 years since the terrorist attacks. We're joining our sister iHeart Stations to support 911Day.org. The call to action is to transform a day of tragedy into a day of service. Do a good deed and share it via social media (#911Day) and/or volunteer at the SF Meal Pack event going on TODAY at Pier 35 on the Embarcadero.
In observance of 9/11 Day, the nation’s largest day of service, please join over 1,000 volunteers who will be participating in this year’s First Annual Bay Area Meal Pack for 9/11 Day, at Pier 35 on The Embarcadero.
This year, our goal in the San Francisco Bay Area is to pack and distribute 250,000 non-perishable meals for food insecure individuals, in tribute to the 9/11 victims, first responders, recovery workers, volunteers, members of our military, and others who rose in service in response to the 2001 terrorist attacks. The Bay Area Meal Pack for 9/11 Day is one of a number of significant meal packing projects happening in major cities on 9/11 this year.
Co-hosts of the Bay Area Meal Pack for 9/11 Day for 2018 include: HandsOn Bay Area, sf.citi, S.F./Marin Food Bank, S.F. Veterans Affairs Commission, S.F. Interfaith Council, GLIDE, Project Homeless Connect, and 9/11 Day.
