Richmond-San Rafael Bridge Closed

Both directions of the Richmond-San Rafael bridge are currently blocked. This Thursday morning someone reported large pieces of concrete falling from the top deck to the lower deck.

CHP and Caltrans are currently working to look for a solution. As of right now it is not known when the bridge will re-open.

Update 2:54PM:

One lane of the westbound upperdeck has been reopened. The entire bridge is estimated to be reopened around 6pm.

Update 1:10PM:

Drivers are encouraged to use SR-37 or Bay Bridge as alternate routes, still no word on when the bridge might be open

UPDATE 12:38PM:

CHP is working to get everyone off the bridge
