Heartbroken John Travolta Breaks Silence On Death Of Wife Kelly Preston

John Travolta paid a heartbreaking tribute to his wife Kelly Preston, who died of breast cancer at the age of 57.

The 66-year-old actor confirmed the Jerry McGuire actress died Sunday morning (July 11) after a “courageous” years-long cancer battle. Breaking his silence his devastating loss via Instagram, Travolta revealed, “It is with a very heavy heart that I inform you that my beautiful wife Kelly has lost her two-year battle with breast cancer. She fought a courageous fight with the love and support of so many.”

“Kelly’s love and life will always be remembered,” the Grease star continued.”I will be taking some time to be there for my children who have lost their mother, so forgive me in advance if you don’t hear from us for a while. But please know that I will feel your outpouring of love in the weeks and months ahead as we heal. All my love, JT.”

Sadly, Travolta is no stranger to such unfortunate familial tragedies. In January 2009, the married couple endured the loss of their 16-year-old son, Jett, who died after suffering a seizure at the family’s vacation home in the Bahamas.

Preston, who rose to stardom as a model and actress, first met Travolta while filming The Experts in 1987. The couple tied the knot in 1991, and welcomed three children together over their 29 years of marriage.

Preston is survived by the couple's daughter, Ella Bleu, and second son, Benjamin.
