CDC States People Should Avoid Traditional Trick-Or-Treating

As the pandemic continues, different cities have been trying to figure out the safest way to go about Halloween this year.

The CDC released guidelines for celebrating fall holidays and they have officially recommended that people try and avoid traditional trick-or-treating as the pandemic continues. In their most recent post, they state "Many traditional Halloween activities can be high-risk for spreading viruses. There are several safer, alternative ways to participate in Halloween."

Lower risk activities they suggest are carving pumpkins outside at a safe distance with neighbors or friends. They classify having a scavenger hunt style trick-or-treat search with your household is also a safe idea.

The CDC also considers "participating in one-way trick-or-treating where individually wrapped goodie bags are lined up for families to grab and go while continuing to social distance" a moderate-risk activity.
