Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga hit Netlix last year, and stars Ferrell and McAdams as a duo — Fire Saga — who make their dreams of competing in the Eurovision Song Contest to represent Iceland come true.

The film's "Husavik - My Home Town" is nominated in the Best Original Song category at this year's Oscars. The song, while performed by McAdams in the movie, is written by Savan Kotecha, Fat Max Gsus and Rickard Göransson, and sung by Swedish pop star Molly Sandén (My Marianne), who will be performing the song during the Oscars pre-show.

In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Kotecha explained how they wanted to make sure they paid tribute to Eurovision with their song. He explained, "Yeah, [Will Ferrell] adds some fun in. That's even his character — he's giving Sigrit [Rachel McAdams] her moment to shine, but even those times that he comes in, he just can't help himself. But also we were walking down the line of wanting to pay tribute to Eurovision rather than mock it."
