Mickey's Halloween Party at the Disneyland Resort kicks off next week and as if that wasn't enough to get you to the parks there's a new Coco celebration going on right now!
Both Disneyland and California Adventure will have a two-month-long Día de los Muertos-inspired celebration that brings Coco to life!
This is what you can expect to see at both parks:
At Disney's California Adventure
- At the Paradise Gardens area of the park - Guests can enjoy the Plaza de la Familia festivities. There's everything like storytelling, folklórico dancers and mariachi musicians, delicious Mexican food, and new interactive experiences like colorful mask crafting.
- At A Musical Celebration of Coco - Park-goers can enjoy a show from the Storytellers of Plaza de la Familia, where they'll hear favorite songs from the movie Coco. The lead storyteller, Mateo will talk about Miguel's magical journey into the Land of the Dead. There will even be an appearance from Miguel in the form of a lifelike puppet figure, joining singers, folklórico dancers, and the Mariachi Divas. This musical celebration will be performed several times daily.
- At The World of Coco - Guests can explore an art exhibit featuring the characters from Coco. The exhibition features a behind-the-scenes look at the movie's creative process for bringing the Land of the Living and Land of the Dead to life. Guests can also explore a three-dimensional "ofrenda" inspired by the remembrance altar seen in the movie.
- At Fun Activities - Guests can take pictures in front of the "Árbol de la Vida," or Tree of Life. The Tree of Life at Plaza de la Familia celebrates the eternal bonds of family and friends. Guests are can even add a remembrance note on the Memory Wall to honor their own loved ones. Guests can also design their own paper "alebrije" (spirit guide) mask.
- The Mexican menu at Paradise Garden Grill will also feature dishes like the traditional Día de los Muertos Pan de Muerto, Mole Verde con Pollo, a yummy Pan Dulce Conchita, and a special "Coco" cake.
- In Cars Land, guests will see Ramone paying tribute to Día de los Muertos at Ramone's House of Body Art. Ramone's "ofrenda" display honoring Doc Hudson is a site to see.
At Disneyland
