Avril Lavigne is back and ready to serve up some brand new music for her fans! The 'Complicated' singer sat down with 1043MYfm's Dave Styles to chat about the creation of her new album, shopping for vintage tees and more backstage at the 2019 GRAMMYs awards.
Avril stars the interview talking about how her new album "Head Above Water" comes out in just a few days on February 15th. She tells Dave that she spend 3 years working on this album and during the time she was going through Lyme Disease. She mentions that she didn't know if she'd ever be able to work and what the future held. She says that she was able to "turn to music and use it to heal during that time."
Avril tells Dave that she produced a couple songs and there's 12 songs on the album. However, she does mention that she wrote about 22 or 30 songs originally. She hopes that this upcoming album will be encouraging and inspiring to others.
Moving on, they start talking about what Avril likes to do in her downtime in Los Angeles. She says she enjoys cooking specifically Italian food like pastas. She also says one of her favorite things to do is going to Wasteland on Melrose to get vintage tees. Her rule when buying vintage tees is that she has to know the bands and the songs.
