New Stanford research outlines big issue with California schools

This is definitely something parents - especially of young children - should be aware of.

In a report on research led by Stanford University education professor Deborah Stipek, the LA Times concludes children in California begin school at a level far behind their peers in other states:

The researchers argue that if California wants to improve student achievement in schools, it has to start much earlier so that children are prepared when they show up for kindergarten.
