New numbers show what average CA host makes for short-term rental

You'll understand why so many people are doing it when you realize the average income generated by renting out space on AIRBNB in California last year was $12,000/year.

According to SFGate's analysis of an AIRBNB report:

Hosts in San Francisco County, where Airbnb is headquartered, earned the third-highest income in California ($143 million), even as the number of guests (392,000) clocked in far behind Los Angeles, San Diego, San Bernardino, Orange and Riverside counties.
