Dave Chappelle rallies at San Francisco's city hall

In an effort to help a place that has been in business since 1978, world famous comedian Dave Chappelle took to the steps of San Francisco's city hall today.

He was speaking on behalf of San Francisco's Punch Line Comedy Club, which isn't able to renew the lease at its Battery Street location later this summer.

"When they say special things happen in that room, it’s an understatement," Chappelle told the crowd.

That is the absolute truth. I had the pleasure of seeing Mr. Chappelle at the Punchline on a few occasions - all incredibly memorable nights.

Here's hoping his efforts pay off!
