World's Ugliest Dog is from the Bay Area

Scamp the Tramp isn't known for his good looks, but instead for his heart of gold and unique looks.

Scamp the Tramp should be renamed to Scamp the Champ because he just won the 31st annual World's Ugliest Dog Contest.

He beat out 18 other contestants where they walk the red carpet, but Scamp won the judges hearts.

According to WGN9, the judges were looking for "special attributes like hanging tongues, slobber, drool (the more the better). Maybe unusual patches of skin or hair.”

Scamp the Tramps' owner Yvonne Morones is from Santa Rosa, CA and won an an appearance with Scamp on the “Today” show, $1,500 in cash, another $1,500 to donate to an animal shelter, and of course a huge trophy.

Scamp was a street dog from Compton and was rescued in 2014.

Since being rescued, he makes volunteer visits to schools and a local senior citizens center.
