It's as simple as adding a "dot" to the address of the website you're visiting, and yes - it works.
I spotted this trick online a week or so ago, but wanted to test drive it myself before sharing / recommending.
In fact, it's a trick that comes in handy quite a bit - especially when watching YouTube videos and visiting news sites with built in paywalls.
Will developers patch this hole in the online ad infrastructure? Probably.
But in the mean time, why not take advantage of the hacks we have available. :)
