GoFundMe For Jilted Burger King Employee Now Past $160k!

WOW!! I love when folks get so mad about someone getting screwed over, they come together and MAKE IT RIGHT! Kevin Ford, a 60 year old Burger King employee in Nevada, went viral on social media over the weekend NOT for being a STAR EMPLOYEE...but for receiving a pretty crappy 'thank you' goodie bag from the company for being a STAR EMPLOYEE! It was to acknowledge his 27 YEARS of PERFECT ATTENDANCE! A video posted about this on Tik Tok left many feeling mad, that the bag that contained a movie ticket, Starbucks tumbler, candy, a lanyard and pens was just NOT the way to properly thank this man for being awesome! In response to the outpouring of love for her Dad, his daughter set up a GoFundMe page and the money started coming in like crazy! “I was grateful for anything,” Ford told NewsNationNow. “There’s people I have worked with for 20 or 30 years and they didn’t get anything. I am happy with anything.” SO HUMBLE!! “The generosity of these people is just overwhelming,” he said. “I’ve been crying for three days now. I can’t believe it. I really can’t.” Ford couldn’t explain how he has never missed a shift. I don’t know how I did that! Maybe I’m a robot?,” he joked, adding, “I just never thought about taking a day off. I just try to work as hard as I can, whatever I do.”

At last check, the GoFundMe was over $160k and counting! Even actor-comedian David Spade donated $5,000 TMZ reported, writing in a DM on Instagram, “Keep up the good work.” When Ford replied that he might actually be able to take a day off yet, Spade offered up some great advice: “Wait till year 30.”

The GoFundMe post reads:

Hi, My name is Seryna. The man in that video is my father. He has worked at his job for 27 years and yes, he has never missed a day of work. He originally began working at this job as a single father when he gained custody of me and my older sister 27 years ago. Then as our family grew and he remarried, he continued to work here because of the amazing health insurance That was provided through this employer because it was unionized. Which got all four of his daughters through high school and college with full healthcare coverage. My dad continues to work here, because though he does look young, he is coming up on retirement age and leaving would cost him his retirement. In no way are we asking for money or is he expecting any money but if anyone feels like blessing him he would love to visit his grandchildren.
