A group of young residents in Gilbert, Minnesota are having a really hard day. They have been reported drifting around town looking disoriented and barely avoiding being hid by traffic.
But it's not a group of teenagers...this is the local bird population.
A statement from Police Chief Ty Techar said, "The Gilbert Police Department has received several reports of birds that appear to be 'under the influence' flying into windows, cars and acting confused."
Apparently, the town suffered an early frost, which meant the local berries fermented earlier than usual. So the birds have been eating them...and getting drunk.
Chief Techar also said, "There is no need to call law enforcement about these birds as they should sober up within a short period of time."
