WOW, WOW, WOW!!! I was so honored to receive this amazing message yesterday, from our listener, Lauren. (Who I had NO idea was featured in People magazine for weight loss! Amazing!!!) She heard our "Good News" segment, where I talked about how proud I was of myself for breaking my unhealthy pattern of binge-eating. This is something I have done my WHOLE life, and to me, it was "normal." Who doesn't eat an entire box of cereal for breakfast? Or snack and hide wrappers in their car? Or eat more after everyone has gone to bed, so that way no one would "see" you? It's only within the last year (even 6-8 months, really) that I've TRULY felt as shift in my whole being; my whole existence, and my confidence as well. This has been through therapy, a weight loss program, exercise, and mainly, just being honest with myself.
Lauren, who has lost over 100 pounds in her own health journey, said,
"...As someone who has struggled with weight gain since a young age and binge eating, it was so great to hear someone else be so open about it. My family and friends knew I had a bad diet and did not exercise, but they did not know I was a binge eater for all of those years. I was so ashamed and it was the one secret I did not share. Opening up about it to my family, friends, and on social media helped me continue on this journey! Sharing my story on social media started as a way to keep myself accountable, but overtime I realized that sharing could potentially help someone else out there not feel so alone in the challenges they are facing. If you also struggle with your weight and even binge eating, I encourage you to share that with your loved ones so that you can have the support you need to start or continue on your own journey!"
You GO GIRL!!!
This was our "Good News" segment from Wednesday, July 25th, where I talked about dealing with and "healing" my binge-eating issues.
