ON Friday morning, David Casarez- a homeless web developer from Mountain View- woke from his park bench, put on a nice shirt and tie, and passed out job resumes along a highway median. His sign said, "Homeless Hungry 4 Success, Take a Resume." This caught the eye of a local makeup artist, Jasmine, who tweeted, "Today I saw this young homeless man asking for people to take a resume rather than asking for money. If anyone in the Silicon Valley could help him out, that would be amazing. Please RT so we can help David out!"
With his consent, she posted her tweet below, and it went viral. David's story was even picked up by People.com! He said, "“I knew it would be posted on social media, I didn’t know it would blow up like this. I’m trying not to take any money. I really do just want a job opportunity — that’s all I’m asking.”
Since Friday, he's received 200+ job offers, including offers from Google, LinkedIn, and Netflix. I cannot imagine the circumstances David has been through and continues to go through to achieve success. What an incredible man. I hope he find the job he deserves!!!
