I'd like to thank our listener, Lorrin, for writing about this on the "Marcus and Sandy" FB page! The Teal Pumpkin Project is creating a safer, happier Halloween for kids by offering NON-candy options. Apparently, 1 in 13 kids have some kind of food allergy, so if you see a Teal Pumpkin on someone's doorstep, it means they are offering something else other than food for trick-or-treaters. This can be stickers, glow sticks, toys, etc.
The Teal Pumpkin Project was inspired by a local awareness activity run by the Food Allergy Community of East Tennessee. Watch the videos below for more info!
