It's been 8 months since the death of Chadwick Boseman and most fans feel that his character, King T-Challa should not be recast.
Some fans do believe that the role should be recast. According to a petition on the website change.org, there are currently 2,100 signatures from fans who want the part recast. They believe that the Black Panther character is too critical to the franchise for it to be retired. Marvel already announced that they have no plans to recast Boseman's character and that they will move forward with Black Panther 2.
The focus of the second film will be on other characters battling to claim the throne.
