Cue the “awws!” Halsey is “baby crazy” for the most logical reason. While chatting with Ryan Seacrest in-studio on Friday, May 17, the Grammy-nominated songstress explained why she’s obsessed with babies — and vice versa.
It all came up after Ryan’s cohost Sisanie reminded Halsey that she saw her at brunch one weekend and Halsey had a great connection with her 1-year-old daughter, Aiza, who is usually slow to warm up to strangers.
“Any environment involving babies is usually my favorite,” Halsey admitted. “I am [a baby whisperer]. I have loads of nieces and nephews and I was a nanny and camp counselor.”
In fact, babies are soothing to the singer, who just dropped empowering new anthem “Nightmare.”
“I’m baby crazy — all my saved posts on Instagram are like cute baby videos and honestly I kind of need it because it can get really stressful traveling around,” Halsey explained. “You can get kind of homesick and every photo shoot or concert or whatever feels like the end of the world. It’s nice to be reminded of something innocent and nice so I watch all these videos of babies.”
As to why kids also love Halsey? She joked it’s likely her ever evolving style.
“It’s probably the hair,” she said. “I’m like a big shiny toy.”
