Today is the first day San Francisco Street Crisis Response Team will be operating and responding to 911 calls related to mental health or addiction. The team includes a behavioral health clinician, peer specialist, and medical professional.
If there is a violent situation or something related to criminal activity, the San Francisco Police Department will be involved.
Mayor London Breed said,
This is the first of at least six teams that will start over the coming months with the goal of operating citywide, seven days a week.
