WOW. I can't imagine what it would be like to be one of the 176 people on-board this flight- I'd have been TERRIFIED! Yesterday, Delta Flight 302 was the last commercial airplane to fly out of Puerto Rico’s San Juan Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport before it completely shut down due to Hurricane Irma's 185 mile per hour winds. The airplane’s pilot flew between the outer band of Irma and the core of the hurricane to safely arrive at New York’s JFK International Airport — all under three and half hours.
Thanks to Jason Rabinowitz (a self-proclaimed aviation geek following this flight), thousands of Twitter uses got to see the flight take off and land in real time. Check out some pics below!
