There's a disturbing new trend in the world of plastic surgery...

...and it's all because of social media.

According to a Huffington Post article posted earlier, cosmetic surgeons are seeing more and more patients bring in photos made with Snapchat and Instagram filters as examples of their desired look.

There's even a name for the phenomenon: SNAPCHAT DYSMORPHIA.

Experts in the article warn this could be really bad for people from a psychological standpoint:

“There’s an issue with losing perspective on what you actually look like, and it’s not something we talk about much,” said Renee Engeln, professor of psychology at Northwestern University, and author of Beauty Sick: How the Cultural Obsession with Appearance Hurts Girls and Women.
