BART Murder Suspect Identified, "Considered Dangerous"

The BART Police Department has identified a suspect in the murder of 18-year-old Nia Wilson, who was fatally stabbed on the night of July 22nd on the MacArthur station platform. BART PD released photos and identified the suspect as 27-year-old John Lee Cowell. 

Wilson's 20-year-old sister Tashiya was also stabbed and is being treated at a local hospital.

Cowell is described as being "Caucasian... 5'8", and weights 190 pounds" and as having "short, dark hair as well as a closely cropped beard and mustache." BART police say he is considered dangerous and that anyone who sees him should immediately call 9-1-1.

One of the released photos is from a previous booking photo according to BART.gov, implying that Cowell has been arrested before. Another photo is "from a recent interaction with BPD."
