Meet Pets From Hopalong Animal Rescue On Furry Fridays!

Wally, Banana, Tammy, and Kota are available to adopt, along with a ton of other amazing pets at Hopalong Animal Rescue who deserve a great forever home!

Meet Wally:

Wally just wants to be your wiggly shadow. You have to be fast to snap a picture of this shadow because he’s always moving, trying to get closer to you. He’s working on potty training, but already knows sit, and knows to wait for his dinner until he’s “released.” For a squatty little dog, he sure loves long walks to help get rid of some of those wiggles. Without some exercise, he’ll need some really sturdy chew toys to help with that extra energy. He sleeps in his crate at night, and will be good in his crate during the day, after a few minutes of whining to let you know he’ll miss you. Sometimes he skips the whining if there’s a peanut butter Kong involved. He loves wrestling with other dogs and seems to be good around kids. He loves meeting people - almost as much as he’ll love just being next to his forever person.

Meet Banana:

Banana is an 8-year-old chihuahua mix. As an older gentleman. he enjoys spending his time with his people and napping. He is very sweet and cuddly and will insist on sleeping in the bed with you! Banana is a bit of a guard dog and will put his big ears to use to hear any trouble in or near the house. He mostly ignores dogs and seems to enjoy cats. He would do best in a quiet house with people and animals that treat him gently. When he is left behind in the house, he makes his sadness known to everyone in the neighborhood. He is ready for a retirement home with people who can spend a lot of time with him!

  • 10-15 lbs
  • Potty trained
  • Small dog/cat friendly
  • Unknown with medium/large dogs
  • Big voice
  • Best with older children
  • Sometimes his knees buckle

*Banana is partially blind and that doesn’t bother him. He can see some objects, but not all. Banana is the happiest and healthy otherwise!

Meet Tammy:

Tammy is a very sweet girl! She and her brother Timmy were originally adopted from our organization as kittens but were sadly returned recently because their owner lost their home. They’re used to a quieter, indoor-only household. They can be shy at first/startle with loud noises, but they’re both very sweet and affectionate and become confident once settled in. They’re mellow, independent, social, friendly, lap cats with great litter box skills and no history of behavioral/health issues.

*They enjoy each others company and would ideally be adopted together since they’ve been together since birth, but they could be separated if it were the right home(s).

Meet Kota:

From my foster:

"Kota is a bundle of energy and a wonderful companion. He will always greet you at the door with head bops. He can be quite determined and once he puts his mind on something he will put his all into it, whether that's chasing toys or kneading blankets. He welcomes attention but also likes to be alone, opting to sit on window ledges to stare outside. Very unusual for a cat but he also likes to play catch like a dog!"

Tune into Marcus & Sandy every Friday to meet another cat or dog that could be your family's next pet.
