Oakland is set to receive $11.3 Million in federal funds to help with the city's housing crisis.

With the help from House America, a federal initiative, Mayor Libby Schaaf announced that Oakland plans to house 1,500 homeless people and build 132 affordable housing units, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

Schaaf said, “Housing is health... We do not have health without that foundation under our feet or that roof over our head.”
