These pets are available to adopt, along with a ton of other amazing dogs at Muttville Senior Dog Rescue who deserve a great forever home!
Get to know Stacey:
Stacey is the perfect senior lady! She is so gentle, quiet and just about as sweet as can be. She is such a polite little gem. She loves to be snuggled and showered with love, but is equally as happy snuggling up in her dog bed. She still enjoys little walks where she can stop to smell the roses. She will make a wonderful addition to any home.
Here is what her foster has to say!
Sweet, incredibly cute, quiet and shy little Stacey is doing her best to navigate a strange new world. Every day she trusts us a little more and I see flashes of her little spunky self. Her little tail is firmly tucked under much of the time, but she still has playful moments in the morning. She was afraid of the stairs at first, but quickly mastered them after a day. She’s afraid to see new people, but if they stop to talk to her, she cautiously starts to sniff them. Within a few minutes, she even started nudging a new friend for pets. A slow approach and soft voice are all she needs to know things aren’t so scary.
She sleeps soundly through the night (and much of the day!) and seems to be potty trained. She’ll relax by herself on a dog bed, but will also sometimes decide she wants to snuggle next to me. She’s low-key with our two resident dogs, and doesn’t mind when one of them curls up next to her. She did show a surprising side when she saw our skittish resident cat. Stacey decided she had to investigate that cat and even gave an alarm bark another time – the only time I’ve heard her make a peep. I’ve told Stacey she needs to leave the cat alone, so now she limits her interest to alertly watching the cat whenever she appears. I suspect she might do better with a confident cat who isn’t afraid of the Stacey patrol.
This is all a a sudden change for Stacey. But with a little time, patience and gentle encouragement, I am sure that this sweet girl will soon blossom into a loving, happy and spunky companion.
Get to know Barnes & Noble:
Barnes is strongly bonded with Noble, so we want to adopt them out together.
What could possibly be better than one sweet Yorkie? Two of course! Barnes & Noble are a fantastic pair of brothers. They can’t wait to join you for a jaunt around your neighborhood then curl up on the couch with you while you read a good book. Need help choosing what to read next? Luckily you have a pair of literary experts by your side. (They recommend Dog Songs by Mary Oliver and Culinary Canine.)
Here’s a note from their foster:
Barnes and Noble are a very cute pair and complement each other perfectly!
Barnes is a character! Full of energy, always seems
happy and loves to be near his person. He is able to jump up onto the sofa and up and down stairs. He has a great appetite. He’ll even finish up Noble’s meal if leaves any behind.
Noble is the more calm of the two. He needs helps going down stairs and lifting onto the sofa. He too likes to stay near his person and loves a treat.
They both enjoy walks and meeting other dogs and people.
They’d be most suited in a home with direct access to a yard since they don’t seem to want to do their business in public! We might be out for two hours and during that time they won’t relieve themselves at all and then race to the back yard as soon as we get home to do their business!
Get to know Yolanda:
They say big things come in small packages, and in Yolanda’s case it’s a BIG personality. Yolanda is 15 years young, 6 pounds (I’m guessing here), and blind, but that doesn’t slow her down one bit. Her hobbies include exploring the backyard, roughhousing with stuffed animals and her personal favorite, accepting head & booty scratches.
Get to know Coco Chanel:
Such style, such grace, our Coco Chanel is the height of canine elegance! She’s not just a pretty face; Coco is sweet and smushy and oh so loveable. She adores hugs and cuddles; make sure you have enough room on your couch (and lap) for her. Don’t let her cropped ears fool you; she’s a 100% lovebug!
A Coco superfan has covered her adoption fee!!
Here’s a note from her foster!
Coco is a loving, loyal and tender pit bull. She loves hanging out cuddling with kids and adults and loves to have an extra snuggle. She loves to take walks and also enjoys afternoon naps snuggling with the kids.
A family dog for sure or just surrounded with many people-she has so much love to give and she is all for receiving love and affection and snuggles!
Coco is an absolute dream of a girl! She is loving, tender, and kind in every way.
She is the type of gal you take to the store and lays by the counter with the sales team getting pets while you shop. She is friends with all people! She has gone to cafes for coffee with me, an outdoor mall, and even went to my 88 year old grandpa’s house and loved him!
She can easily jump in and out of the car, and rides calmly, looking out the window. Loves walks (and walks oh so well!), knows commands like sit, stay, leave it, and is totally housebroken.
If you don’t want a dog that wants to be in your lap snoring – Coco isn’t the gal for you. Her favorite thing is to be laying on you, belly up, snoring with her paw draped over you. She instantly used me as her safety blanket. It took her an hour to claim me as her person – and I’m sure she would do that with anyone.
On walks, she notices and watches other dogs intently. She should be in a home without competition for attention from another dog or cat. She definitely italy wants to be the queen of her castle!!
Coco has a little bit of separation distress and manifests it in some low mutterings while you are away but nothing disruptive. I have left her for a few hours and she is fine when I return and neighbors said they didn’t hear much of anything. I do think she isn’t the kind of dog you would want to leave for 8 hours every day – she wants her people around so she can use them as her pillow as much as possible!
When I first began my foster time with her, she jumped up on my bed, tail wagging, and threw her head on my chest. You can really see how kind and committed she is.
Coco is just the perfect lady and whoever ends up with her is going to feel loved, needed, and appreciated every single day with her.
Tune into Marcus & Sandy every Friday to meet another cat or dog that could be your family's next pet.
