The 59th Academy of Country Music Awards were a family affair on Thursday (May 16) as married superstars Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani took the stage for a stunning duet of their new "Purple Irises."

The pair let their love story bloom on stage for during an upbeat performance of the song they dropped earlier this year, pairing the love song with a colorful background of a stained glass window of purple irises and surrounded by the flowers. While Shelton wore his typical jeans and blazer for the performance, Stefani dressed for the occasion in a sparkling purple ensemble that resembled an iris.

Shelton and Stefani, the later of which described the song as "a snapshot of feeling the moment," sang to each other throughout the performance, declaring that they "never knew a love like this." As the pair neared the end of the song, the stained glass window opened up to reveal a gorgeous purple sky.

Shelton recently revealed that he's planning to make a return to the hit singing competition TV series The Voice; however, it is only to celebrate the show's 25th season. Many fans were shocked when the "God's Country" singer decided to step away from the show after 23 seasons as a coach, racking up several wins during his tenure as he led aspiring artists through the competition.

The Voice also holds a special place in Shelton's heart for another reason as it is where he met Stefani in 2014, both serving as coaches on the show. In April, he opened up about his relationship with the "Hollaback Girl" singer and how she changed his life "in every possible way."

As for Stefani, she had a memorable time reuniting with her band No Doubt while headlining Coachella last month, the band's first show in nearly a decade, even bringing out one of the biggest rising stars in the music industry.
