Elton John might have lost sight in his right eye, but his humor is still very much intact.
The "Tiny Dancer" icon presented at this year's Golden Globes alongside friend and fellow entertainer, Brandi Carlile, and cracked a joke about issues with his eyesight.
"It’s a very special night for me to be here because, I don’t know if you know, but there’s been stories going around about my regressive eyesight. Just want to reassure everybody – it’s not as bad as it seems. I’m so pleased to be here with my co-host, Rihanna."
John revealed that his sight was declining in a September 2024 Instagram post, telling fans that the healing process would be "extremely slow."
"I am healing, but it's an extremely slow process and it will take some time before sight returns to the impacted eye."
The "I'm Still Standing" hitmaker sat down with Good Morning America in November 2024 to speak about the infection that led to his current lack of sight.
"I unfortunately lost my eyesight in my right eye in July because I had an infection in the South of France. It’s been four months now since I haven’t been able to see. And my left eye is not the greatest."
