Kevin Richardson is sharing the heartfelt story behind one of the Backstreet Boys' emotional ballads.

In an Instagram reel shared on the BSB account, Richardson explained the meaning behind the group's song "Back to Your Heart," from their 1999 album Millennium. He not only co-produced the track but wrote the song after he had split from his now-wife Kristin, whom he dated off-and-on for years before they married in 2000, per People.

"I wrote 'Back to Your Heart' for Kristin, so that was very sentimental. Her and I were broken up, but it worked out good because I ended up marrying her," he said in the video, which celebrated the couple's 25th wedding anniversary.

The captioned echoed Richardson's sentiment, cheering on the couple for the milestone: "Way to go Kevy Kev! That's how you get the girl... Happy anniversary you guys!"

Millennium is set to get a new resurgence next month with the release of Millennium 2.0 on July 11, an anniversary edition of the classic record that will feature remastered versions of the beloved tracks as well as some demos and live recordings from the 1999-2000 Into the Millennium Tour, per Billboard. Backstreet Boys are also taking over The Sphere in Las Vegas for their Into the MillenniumI residency, which also kicks off July 11.
