This Mom Shares A Hilarious Elf On A Shelf Story!

Just like many families, Brittany Mease is hiding her family's Elf on a Shelf all over the house.

However, Brittany accidentally "baked" the family's Elf on a Shelf and lucky for us she shared the hilarious story on Facebook!!

Brittany said in a Facebook post that while she has never been a fan of the "creepy" Elf on a Shelf, she participates each year because it makes her young children happy.

She had initially put Elfis on "bed rest" after he supposedly broke his leg tripping over her kids' toys that were left out, but her children pointed out that the 14-day bed rest period had ended and Elfis still hadn't moved.

She said, "When they weren't looking I grabbed him off the kitchen counter and quickly tossed him in the oven until I could move him later and not raise any suspicion."

The only problem was she forgot about Elfis' hiding place until she was heating up lunch for the kids.

She said, "That's when all hell broke loose and I broke my son's heart."

Brittany's children were witness to Elfis' melting form as she tried to rescue him from the oven.

She said, "I started to grab him out and the kids were like 'don't touch him, he'll lose his magic.' So I'm like 'crap, he's going to lose his magic.'"

Brittany attempted to use utensils to lift Elfis, causing his head to pop right off his body.

She said her son, Gray, was distraught, but his 5-year-old sister, Ily, laughed at the elf's demise.

Brittany put in a call to Santa while her kids listened in and she asked St. Nick to come take Elfis for some emergency medical treatment.

A "healed" Elfis was delivered to her children by Santa Claus.
