Expect Eggs To Cost More This Year!

Be prepared, it might get slightly more expensive for you to enjoy scrambled eggs every morning this year.

According to NPR, the U.S. Department of Agriculture is predicting that the price for most cartons of eggs will be hiked up throughout the beginning of the new year.

Despite the prices of most meats like beef, pork, lamb, chicken and turkey being expected to decrease, the USDA's Economic Research Service anticipates that egg prices will be 35 percent higher in the first three months of 2018 than they were during the same time period last year.

However, you won't have to spend the rest of the year worrying about these prices.

The price increase is due to the increased demand for eggs and that means that, once U.S. egg producers increase the size of their flocks, supply will increase, leaving potential for egg prices to decrease again.

So you can relax for now, There are way more eggs where that came from.
