Starbucks is all about trying new things, which is why there were creations like the unicorn frappuccino and color-changing cold brew.
Their newest creation?
Cold brew coffee with a hint of gin flavoring.
Yep, gin flavoring...
Starbucks starts with Rwandan coffee beans, scoop them into oak barrels originally used for bourbon aging, and then for gin aging, so all the flavors come together to create one cocktail-esque drink.
Starbucks manager of product development Jennifer Galbraith said in a statement, "The beans absorb the botanical essence of the gin, bringing out its bright citrus notes with a sweet caramel finish. The resulting cup is rich, nuanced and unlike anything we’ve tasted before."
Although the drink is technically nonalcoholic, it's intended to be a twist on the classic Gin and Tonic.
It's served with lime bitters, tonic, and garnished with a lime.
Sounds like the perfect way to make it feel like happy hour all day long.
Unfortunately, the drink is only available at the Starbucks Reserve Roastery in Seattle for a limited time.
