Trader Joe's Has Issued A Nationwide Recall For Chocolate Chip Cookies!

Warning: cookie lovers with peanut allergies, beware!

Hundreds of bags of Trader Joe's Chocolate Chip Cookies may contain unlabeled allergens.

Trader Joe's was alerted by one of its suppliers that bags of its store-branded chocolate chip cookies may have been packed together with the company's Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies (which do contain peanuts) by mistake.

The company has since issued a product recall that affects over a dozen states.

Packages with the barcode 0068 0752 have been recalled from all stores in Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, northern Virginia and Washington, D.C.

Products with the lot code 2060 and sell by dates (March 12, 2018 through March 18, 2018) may also be affected.

According to the company, "no allergic reactions or illnesses have been reported to date" and all of the affected bags have since been removed from store shelves and "destroyed."

For questions or concerns, customers may call Trader Joe’s customer relations at (626) 599-3817 or send an email.

Trader Joe's warned that customers with severe peanut allergies may face severe reactions if they attempt to eat the tainted product.

"If you purchased any of the Chocolate Chip Cookies with the specified lot and date codes and have a peanut allergy, please do not eat it."

They continued,"We urge you to discard the product or return it to any Trader Joe’s for a full refund."
