Krispy Kreme's New Doughnuts Are Inspired By Cookies!

Yesterday 4/9, Krispy Kreme had Instagram going crazy with speculation when they posted a close-up shot of a chocolate sprinkle doughnut with the caption, “A new doughnut collection will be arriving in shops this week. Any guesses on the flavors?”

But they killed any hope that the much-anticipated lemon doughnut would be released this week, by including a hint along with the lemon emoji.

While comments flooded in with many great guesses, just hours later, several Instagram food accounts, leaked the news that Nutter Butter Cookie Twist Doughnuts and Chips Ahoy! Cookie Doughnuts would join Krispy Kreme’s longtime favorite Oreo Cookies and Kreme Doughnut in a limited-edition cookie classics collection this week!

Krispy Kreme confirmed the news today (4/10) with a statement from Jackie Woodward, Chief Marketing Officer of Krispy Kreme Doughnuts.

“Like Krispy Kreme, Oreo, Nutter Butter and Chips Ahoy! are cookie institutions. Only Krispy Kreme can take these treats to the next level by infusing flavors to make each cookie an awesome doughnut experience.”

According to Krispy Kreme, the Nutter Butter Cookie Twist Doughnut is an Original Glazed Twist that is dipped in peanut butter icing, topped with Nutter Butter cookie pieces and drizzled with peanut butter icing.

The Chips Ahoy! Cookie Doughnut is an unglazed shell filled with a cookie dough Kreme, dipped in dark chocolate, topped with Chip Ahoy! cookie pieces as well as a mini Chips Ahoy! cookie.

Rounding out the new cookie classics collection is the Oreo Cookies and Kreme Doughnut, which is an unglazed shell filled with Oreo Cookies and Kreme filling, dipped in dark chocolate icing, topped with Oreo cookie pieces and a glossy white drizzle.

The new doughnut collection is already being rolled out at some stores in the United States, but they should be available more widely starting tomorrow, April 11th.
