KFC is well known for their fried chicken and we're honestly pretty surprised that they have never experimented with chicken and waffles.
Well the wait is finally over because KFC's in three cities are trying out the dish this summer.
Two cities in North Carolina (Asheville and Charlotte) and one in South Carolina (Greenville) were picked to test KFC's new dish and if all goes well the rest of us can try it too!
The Charlotte Observer says that the meal comes with two pieces of chicken either bone-in dark meat or boneless chicken tenders and a thick Belgian waffle about the size of your hand.
It's served with a side of Mrs. Butterworth's syrup, but the Observer recommends asking for hot sauce too.
KFC's senior marketing director Mike Wesley said in a statement, "we know that chicken and waffles have a cult following across the country, especially in the south, but not everyone has it available close by. We’re excited to hear what North Carolinian taste buds have to say."
KFC's chicken and waffles are in select stores now through July 29 for between $5 and $5.49 an order.
Fingers crossed all goes well so we can see them in more cities!
