Honey Smacks Cereal Has Been Recalled In California!

If you like Honey Smacks cereal and you bought some make sure you throw it out and DO NOT EAT IT!

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says Kellogg's Honey Smack cereal has been linked to a salmonella outbreak that has infected 130 people in 34 states, including California.

The CDC announced today (9/4) that customers should avoid Honey Smacks, tweeting, "Do NOT eat. Do NOT buy."

Salmonella has been found in samples of Honey Smacks, which has been subject to a voluntary recall by Kellogg since mid-June.

While stores cannot legally sell Honey Smacks as the outbreak continues, the CDC is concerned infections are continuing as people eat the cereal that has been stored in their cabinets.

The CDC says it doesn't matter the expiration date, the cereal should be thrown away or returned to a retailer for a refund.

They also said that there are 130 people have been infected and at least 30 of the people infected in the outbreak have been hospitalized.

So if you have Honey Smacks at home or have bought them make sure to get rid of it and whatever you do DO NOT EAT THEM!
