Chanel Is The Latest Brand To Ban Fur And Exotic Animal Skin In Designs!

Many high end fashion designers in the past have used real fur in their designs.

However, Chanel is the latest company to ban the use of fur following the footsteps of other brands like Coach, Gucci, and so many more!

The president of Chanel fashion and Chanel SAS Bruno Pavlovsky said in an interview with WWD that they will no longer use exotic animal skins and fur.

They continued saying “The future of high-end products will come from the know-how of what our atelier is able to do.".

Bruno also said that in the past they used very little fur in their designs, but the animal skins that have been banned consist of crocodile, lizard, snake, and stingray.

He said that the change was mostly because of the ability to source skins that “met the house’s quality and ethical standards” was difficult.

The brand will now focus on  research and development on “textiles and leathers generated by ‘agri-food’ industries.”
