Hulu is the only streaming service that plays ads throughout TV shows and movies which can get kind of frustrating.
Well, it looks like Hulu is trying to fix that.
Variety reports that the streaming company is testing out "pause ads."
The way pause ads will work is that these ads will pop up whenever the user presses pause instead of during the movie or show.
Vice President And Head of Advertising Platforms for Hulu says "these commercials need ‘to be less interruptive and more relevant.'”
These pause ads will be short messages with small pictures over a translucent background so whatever TV show or movie you're watching can still be seen.
So far sponsors like Coca-Cola, Charmin, and Procter & Gamble are on board for these "pause ads."
There will be a five second gap between pausing and having the ad start.
What do you think of these pause ads?
Would you prefer the pause ads or the traditional ones?
