Home Improvement was one of my favorite shows growing up. I might be dating myself, but I remember when we looked forward to a new episode every week.
Although most of the home shows I watch, like Property Brothers are on HGTV, Tim 'The Tool Man' Taylor, and his assistant Al, are reuniting, not for a Home Improvement reboot, but for a non-scripted building ten-part series called'Assembly Required', which will premiere on the History Channel in 2021.
In this time when some of us are home more than usual, and seek those DIY projects, this is the perfect time to offer something like this to help us learn, as an alternative to YouTube, which helped me build shelves in my closet, and clean the gross buildup from that rubber ring in the washing machine. And as Tim Allen said, who better to join him than his old partner Richard Karn, who played Al.
I like Tim Allen's quote "“We buy, break, replace… rinse and repeat. Whatever happened to repair and rebuild?"
I can't wait to watch. "Arr arrr arrr!" Ok, I can make that noise with my mouth, but never written it out. Hope it translates.
