Help us find forever homes for adoptable pets every week on Star 101.3's Furry Fridays

Meet Pets From Marin Humane On This Week's Furry Fridays!

Bella, Luna, Tammy, & Mocha are available to adopt at Marin Humane, along with a ton of other amazing pets who deserve a great forever home!

Get to know Bella:

She has been through some ups and downs during her journey through life. She lost her home in a fire, she was given away to a neighbor, and she eventually ended up back with us as a stray, wandering around on her own. With a large fatty growth on her chest, and a slight chip on her shoulder, we gave her time to relax, and sent her to foster. She has been doing great in foster (she loves the other dogs in the house), and her fatty growth has been removed. Her youthful spirit has been rejuvenated!

Overall, she's a lovely, loving, playful girl, with a lot of life in her!

Get to know Luna:

Luna is a very beautiful, sweet and mellow senior cat looking for someone to hang out with. In her foster home she quickly settled in, got the lay of the land and now enjoys watching TV and getting groomed by her foster mom. Being a grand senior, she prefers a nice quiet place, a cardboard scratcher and time to settle in before the petting and attention start.

Once comfortable Luna would love to sit on your lap and hang out with you. She'll enjoy being petted and watching from high places. And you may see her soft belly if you talk silly/baby style to her...she finds that most amusing and relaxing!

Get to know Tammy:

This little girl is a regular Ginger Rogers. For you youngsters--Google her. Tammy is a spunky girl for her age and will do best in an adult home. She will perform a tap dance for you when anticipating a treat. Tammy can be a bit selective about her friends, human and canine alike. If you're interested in adopting Tammy we recommend bringing treats! (We've found that Tammy warms up to just about anyone with a cookie.) Look at Tammy close and she will dance right into your heart. Tammy can become overly aroused when too many things are happening in her environment.

We think she will settle in very well in a home. Tammy prefers her personal space and will solicit affection from humans she considers friends. Tammy has lots on friends on our shelter staff and they have no issues picking her up and taking Tammy on walks. New people require some scrutiny by Tammy and need to give her time to warm up to them. If two or three new people come into Tammy's space she can go "over threshold" and will become reactive, snapping or nipping - she seems to have no intent to harm just to tell people to back off. This is something we think can be easily managed in a home, just tell people to ignore Tammy, unless she comes up to them and asks for petting. Thus far Tammy has not shown much interest in other dogs and we think she would prefer to be an only dog.

Get to know Mocha:

Mocha is a sweet bunny but a bit reserved and slow to accept pets. Go nice and slow with her to gain her trust. It is best if when going to pet her it is from the side so she can see your hand coming. Mocha is also unsure of quick movements and loud sounds. When scared she immediately runs for cover. Her foster home has two small dogs that she is fine with. Her first family had dogs that were too interested in her! A Zen type of home is best for her. With adults only or calm older children.

Rabbits can be an excellent addition to any family but do require daily attention. And most importantly time out of their cage or x-pen set-up to run around. Keeping them indoors is the best for them because living outside can be lonely, cause illness' or even worse. We'll be happy to educate you on how easy it is to have an indoor rabbit.

Tune into Marcus & Sandy every Friday to meet another animal that could be your family's next pet.
