Meet Pets From Muttville Senior Dog Rescue On Furry Fridays!

These pets are available to adopt, along with a ton of other amazing dogs at Muttville Senior Dog Rescue who deserve a great forever home!

Get to know Burrow:

Burrow, a retired anesthesiologist from Antioch, is here to take your pain away. Burrow was voted Best Love Doctor by the Association of Cutie Pahtooties He will hypnotize you with his gorgeous eyes and perky ears, and all he wants is to snuggle all night long. He is up for walks when you are! Sit back, relax, and count backwards from 10. Burrow will take good care of you.

Here’s a note from his foster:

Burrow is ready to tag along wherever you go with his non-stop wagging tail! He’s very in tune with people and has got to snuggle up next to you if there’s a comfy spot! But he’s not the jump-on-top-of-you type, he’s pretty calm. Fair warning though, he will steal your spot when you get up!

Burrow often likes a brisk walk and is very nice on leash. He definitely knows outdoors are for going potty. I take him out first thing around 8am, then 4-5 walks and quick breaks. About the only thing he doesn’t want to explore on a walk are steps. He avoids them at all costs!

He loves to run right up to people and say hello. However, he’s not a huge fan of other dogs (unless they’re also chihuahuas, then he might love them). I’m not sure what this little love bug is thinking when he starts barking at other mutts, maybe he’s trying to tell them how much he loves his person!

Which brings us to Burrow’s other quirk, that if he sees himself in a mirror, he sometimes barks at himself! Other times, he’s okay with the “other” dog he sees in the mirror. Otherwise, I’ve never heard him bark and he’s never tried to chew anything. He loves his nap times and sleeps like a baby all through the night!

Get to know Bluejay:

Fallen from an old oak tree on a windy day in San Francisco, BlueJay lost his wings. A wise Squirrel told him, after seeing how down in the dumps he was, that he was always meant to be a wolf. A sweet small baby wolf that loves to play and cuddle. One who will grow up to protect his family and provide love throughout the home. All the BlueJay had to do was wag his tail 3 times to the left and 2 times to the right. Wishing to be a fox so badly, BlueJay followed through with the wise Squirrels instructions. As days passed BlueJays color started to change and his tail started to become more fluffy and fox like. His confidence grew and and his personality blossomed. Everyone knows that BlueJays are rare intelligent creatures and anyone crossing it’s path ensures they will have good luck and fortune. Who doesn’t need a guy like BlueJay in their life?

Here’s some notes from his foster:

Bluejay has come a long way! He came to me in a very scared, very anxious place (plus, he had a terrible stomach bug that made things worse for him, I’m sure) – he didn’t want to be touched/pet, picked up, or approached closely. he’s still a tad anxious here and there, but he is transforming slowly but surely! He LOVES LOVES LOVES going on walks, is a very good eater, and does a pretty good job of holding pee/poo in until he goes outside. does great with other dogs, shows no real aggression (plus, he doesn’t really have many teeth, so his bite is probably pretty harmless!) and no separation anxiety. he would do great with a loving, patient, lowkey home who is willing to work with him to trust + love

Get to know Woody:

Shhh…don’t let Woody hear that he is a senior mutt! Although, he may not be as spry as he once was in his younger years, this boy still is a puppy at heart. He loves to play fetch with his tennis ball and likes nothing better than to sit by your side and chomp on his chew toys. He wants to be where ever the action is so be prepared to for a snuggler to be by your side, whether, just lazing about on the couch or enjoying the beautiful outdoors.

Woody gets along great with everyone (people and dogs) and enjoys hanging out with the three resident dogs at home.

He also seems to be housebroken and has excellent manners. He would make a great companion for anyone!

Woody is part of our hospice program due to his severe mobility issues and possible disease in spleen/liver. This boy deserves a happy, loving last chapter – could it be with you?!

Get to know Sparky:

A member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 1, Sparky is a retired electrician. A fantastic sense of humor and a stranger to no one, Sparky has a great love of the outdoors and deep sea fishing. His ears say “look at me” but his heart would love to do nothing more than hardwire its way into your life.

Here’s some notes from his foster:

Don’t let Sparky’s age fool you, he has the energy we all wish we had. He loves going on long walks, zooming up and down stairs, playing with his toys, and cuddling up with his humans in the afternoons and evenings. Sparky can be nervous and shy at first, but warms up fairly quickly. He hasn’t interacted with too many dogs, but he definitely makes his presence known with a scruffy old man bark. He needs to go out more frequently than other dogs we’ve fostered and we’re still figuring out his bathroom schedule so he wears a little diaper as a preventative measure which he doesn’t mind (we had a couple small accidents in the first few days). I think with more time to settle in and access to a yard he wouldn’t need to wear a diaper. Sparky loves food and treats, but needs them to be soft since he’s had some dental issues. Overall Sparky is just the sweetest little guy that’s ready to take on the world with his owner!

Tune into Marcus & Sandy every Friday to meet another cat or dog that could be your family's next pet.
