Meet Sebastian:
This handsome hunk is Sebastian, and he is one special kitty! When he first arrived at Marin Humane as a tiny kitten it was discovered that he had "eyelid agenisis", which is a condition where portions of his upper eyelids weren't formed properly. This condition requires several surgeries to repair so off he went to foster.
While in foster we also learned about Sebastian's personality, which is larger than life! This confident little kid thought he ruled the world and that the expectations of etiquette and manners did not apply to him. Thankfully his foster family consisted of people, dogs, and adult cats that knew all about teaching rowdy whippersnappers the ways of life and thus began his education.
SeaBass sure has come a long way. Not only have his eyelids been reconstructed, but his grasp of appropriate behavior has really improved. Now he still is a LOT of cat that will require a home experienced with busy and mischievous felines, but for the right family he will be a real joy. This outgoing teenager is active, fearless, fun and would be a great companion for a large, cat-loving dog. He also likes playing with the young adult cat in his foster home who enjoys his rough play style, though not a lot of other cats would appreciate his approach so feline companions should be chosen carefully.
Sebastian LOVES toys- cats toys, dog toys, human belongings, scraps of anything on the floor, you name it he will play with it. He also adores time out in his foster's "catio" (cat enclosure) for safe fresh air and enrichment. We highly recommend his new family have or construct one for his physical and mental wellbeing. Because of his reduced peripheral vision, Sebastian should never be allowed to free-roam outdoors as he will be at greater risk from the dangers of doing so. So a catio is best for outside time for him.
Sebastian's tolerance of handling has improved immensely, but his adopters should continue to work with him in this. Picking him up briefly a few times a day, frequently touching his paws and other parts of his body, and so on, will help him understand that being handled by people is safe and ok. This is so important for things like nail trimming, health inspections, transportation, and other things needed to keep a companion animal healthy. Keep it positive and frequent!
Sebastian isn't going to be a good fit for everyone, but if you like "doggy" cats with BIG personalities than this guy just might be the adventure buddy you've been looking for. Life promises to always be exciting with Sebastian around!
Meet Heather Gray:
Little Heather Gray is adorably endearing with her tiny meow and big green eyes. She is shy at first and will need time to adjust to a new place and people. However, once Heather lets you into her inner circle, she never forgets you. She may not be the life of the party, but she will deeply bond to her person. She needs a calm, quiet, adult home with an experienced kitty guardian who can read her signals, and who will give her time to trust.
Once Heather lets you in, she's overjoyed to be in your company. She is busy, curious, affectionate, and playful. She purrs non-stop and can't wait for you to sit down so she can climb into your lap. She loves to chase her mouse wand toy and will look into your eyes while chirping little meows. However, it will take time (and a quiet household) for Heather to become comfortable enough to be herself. Churu and wand toy play will be valuable tools in growing a relationship with Heather. A little patience at the start of the relationship will lead to a true lifelong, little friend.
Meet Trixie:
Trixie came to us from Maui. She was in the shelter before the fires started so we know she doesn't have a family searching for her. It's lucky for us, as Trixie is one easy lady! She's a mellow gal who's never met a stranger. All humans are her favorite people. Well, we suppose humans with treats might be her all-time favorite people. But humans without treats are cool, too. At this point in time, Trizie is pretty obsessed with food. Based on what we've seen, we're hopeful that will fade with time, a steady, consistent meal schedule, and a strong relationship with her new family. Trixie mostly ignores other dogs. She's the epitome of chill.

Meet Papas:
What a joy it is to watch Papas run! He is quick and agile and speeds by with his tongue lolling out. His ideal home would be with an active family that has an affinity for outdoor sports and another dog to be his playmate.
Once he's tuckered himself out, Papas is happy to cuddle and chill out. A tired dog is a good dog, and with no breed is that more true than a Husky!
We have seen Papas play with loads of dogs and he really enjoys a good romp with another canine. We would love to see him join a home with another resident dog or even two!
This charming youngster will need to live with a family that is home much of the time. He bonds with people quickly and would like to be with them as much as possible. Talk with our adoption counselors about how to ease him into his new life.
