These pets are available to adopt, along with a ton of other amazing dogs at Muttville Senior Dog Rescue who deserve a great forever home!

Get to know Maddie:

Sweet Maddie is a Goldilocks dog. Just right. Fluffy, friendly, and full of life, she socializes easily with dogs and people, including children. A reliable favorite at parties, she can entertain the guests or chill in a comfy spot on the edge of the action. She gets around just fine and doesn’t sweat the small stuff. Except stairs. Not a fan. But really, is perfection all it’s cracked up to be? Never. Maddie is proof!

Here’s some notes from her foster:

She is really coming into her own personality! She’s learning to play with dog toys and now LOVES and asks for her daily walks. She loves everyone she comes across. She’s good at outdoor restaurants & is hiking more now. She can go a couple of miles. She’s STARTING to learn stairs. She can go up 3 steps now.

She gets excited when I get home from work and she loves to smile! She is so easy! Totally potty trained, sleeps through the night & has shown no issues being left alone. She does a little a little smile when I get home! Over the weeks I’ve learned that Maddie is great with all size dogs & kids!

Everytime I was worried about her size and temperament, she’s never failed me. She’s a gentle giant. She’s a VERY VERY sweet dog

Get to know Calvin:

This guy exudes coolness, confidence and charisma. He is a crowd favorite at Muttville and a friend to everyone in the community. There’s nothing not to love about this sweet boy. In his free time he enjoys staying healthy and fit by practicing doggy yoga while sipping on his daily glass of Kombucha. He has always been the A+ student – the top of his class. He likes to air on the side of caution before diving right into things. But once he commits to something there’s no turning back. He puts his heart and soul into everything he does, including showering his humans with love and affection.

Here is what his foster has to say

Calvin is now walking three times a day right along with my other dogs, and he now gets very excited to see the harness and leash. He still prefers to be picked up/ held while the harness is put on, but it’s actually the most adorable thing. I bring out the leash and squat down, and he stands on his back legs and reaches for me so I can pick him up and put on his harness. He has lots of energy and trots along so happily when we’re out. When there are new things he hasn’t seen before, like gardeners, delivery people, or other neighbors and dogs walking, he will stop and sit or just stop and stare, but once he’s had a good long look, he moves on again.

In our second week together he has come out of his shell so much, and his energy level has increased substantially. He races around the yard and tries to get his foster brothers to play. Sadly, they’re both super old and aren’t terribly interested, but Calvin is very polite about it and reads their signals well. He really really loves butt scratches and sitting on the couch with us. I don’t think it will be long before he puts all of his old worries behind leaving only his true joyful and outgoing personality.

Get to know Panda:

Panda’s got a face that says, "Get off my lawn! and a personality that shouts, "I love you more! Low to the ground and criminally cute, this calico Shih Tzu is a friend to cats, kids, grown ups, and his canine brethren. He likes a romp in the grass and a sniff of the local shrubbery, but doesn’t do stairs. This means you get to carry him, which is one more snuggle opportunity. Come see what we mean.

Here’s some notes from his foster:

First off Panda is just amazing, I mean look at his face! He’s looks like a grumpy old man, but he is really just a goofy, super loving, go with flow, happy to be here kind of guy.

Panda LOVES food (just no chicken bc he’s allergic). He tends to drink A LOT of water after each meal, just when you think he’s going to stop, he keeps drinking. Everything Panda does is just so entertaining! I’m not sure if it’s because of his size or if he’s a little clumsy but he likes to do things his own way, and I’m always excited to see how it plays out.

Panda is house broken, eats wells, takes meds with no issues, walks nicely on a leash, sleeps through the night. He’s just perfect- I can’t wait to help him find the best forever home!

A super fan has covered Panda’s adoption fee!

Get to know Slippers:

Do you enjoy the softer side of life? If you answered yes to this question, we have someone very special to introduce you to. Meet Slippers! A vintage old man with the most spectacular runway stroll. He has a gentle personality with a face full of charm. He will provide comfort when you’re cold and just enough support when you need it. A superior mutt who can’t wait to curl up with you by the fire and make sure your tootsies stay warm. Get yourself some Slippers today, he is a life changer!

Here are some notes from his foster:

Slippers is SUCH a sweetheart. He loves nothing more than to be with us at all times! He has the cutest little wobble, as he follows us from room to room. He loves to snuggle and perch his tiny head on your body. He’s ok being alone, but when we come home, he is so happy that his little tail wiggles at 100 – make that 1,000, mph!

He loves to shower us with kisses right when we wake up or come home. He also LOVES toys, and has made a best friend in a toy lamb chop, which he will have in his mouth at all times. He also invites us to get in on the toy action, and has a blast playing tug-a-war with his stuffies.

Slippers thoroughly enjoys his walks, and is always eager to meet new people and dogs – but does so politely as a real gentleman, without pulling. He also is pretty quiet, and doesn’t bark. Although, he did do some cute lil growls when he caught his reflection in the mirror!

With a little treat motivation and a lot of routine, Slippers learned to go potty outside. He has started to do a little dance at the door to let us know when he needs to go out.

What does an average day look like for Slippers?

- Slippers wakes up around 6:30 to go potty outside, eats his breakfast and his medication, and then goes back to his bed to rest.

- Around 8:30 am I will take him for a short walk to the end of the block so he can relieve himself. When I bring him in, I give him a treat(s). He anticipates this so when I bring him back in he gets very excited.

- I settle in at my desk to work and he will sleep/rest in his dog bed while I work. He’s the best coworker; stays quiet while I’m on conference calls

- I feed him his lunch at noon, then back to work for me, and back to sleeping/resting for Slippers.

- At around 6 pm, we call it quits, and he follow me to the kitchen to help with dinner. He’s most active around this time, full of excitement, and lots of zoomies. He also has his dinner and his medication.

- At around 8-9, he’ll settle in for the night, but not before extra belly rubs.

- Throughout the day, I let him outside to stretch his legs and to potty, he’ll play with my teenage daughters when they get home from school, and he’ll play with his favorite little lamb toy.

What’s his favorite activity?

Slippers loves to play with his little lamb toy. He’ll sometimes brings it with him outside. When someone comes home, he runs and finds his toy and gives it to them. He enjoys playing tug of war with his lamb.

How does he do with humans?

He is great with humans! So sweet, and loving. He’s very curious and loves to follow the humans around. Whenever I get up from my desk, even if he’s sleeping, he will follow. He loves human attention and to be petted, but we learned that he does not like to be on the couch for very long. He loves giving humans kisses.

Slippers sadly arrived at Muttville showing signs of neglect, so he probably did not get the training and attention he deserves. With a little patience, as he learns to be a “pet dog”, this little guy will reward you with more love, kisses, and high speed tail wags than you could ever imagine!

Tune into Marcus & Corey every Friday to meet more animals that could be your family's next pet!
