Did you receive your tax refund yet? If you didn't, there's a chance that you may have to wait a while.
The IRS has fallen behind schedule due to the backlog of returns that require manual processing, which includes millions of returns left over from 2019 that still haven't been processed due to delays from the ongoing pandemic. According to an official, they stated "Taxpayers will continue to experience unusually long delays. I don't think anyone wants to hear that, but that is the case."
Due to the pandemic and the craziness of the past year, the tax deadline was extended from April to May 17th.
