Unfortunately, the Caldor Fire is slowly making its way over to Lake Tahoe and officials are urging people not to spend the holiday weekend in the area.
SF GATE reports that in an effort to deter visitors, California State Parks has announced that all state parks in the area are closed due to the fire. The Alameda Police Department has also requested that Bay Area residents do not venture out to Lake Tahoe this weekend to "keep the roadways clear for evacuees, emergency services, & resources."
CAL FIRE reports that the Caldor Fire is currently 25% contained and has burned through 210,259 acres over the past 19 days.
